GDP grew 7.7% in 2025 — up from 6.7% in 2024 — and nominal output reached about $147 billion, placing Uzbekistan among the world's 60 largest economies. Rapid urbanisation, favourable demographics and rising domestic demand make it one of the region's most dynamic consumer markets.

Macroeconomic policy is focused on stability and predictability. Unemployment fell to 4,8% — a record low — driven by growth in formal employment (+17% YoY) and an expanding private sector. The population reached 38,2 million, with a median age of just 27.
Foreign trade turnover passed $81,2 billion in 2025 and exports reached $33,8 billion — up 24% YoY — on gold, agriculture, energy and processing. Policy is aimed at export-oriented manufacturing and integration into global value chains.
Total foreign investment attracted reached $43,1 billion (+24% YoY), and the number of companies with foreign capital hit 18 164 — almost double the figure five years ago. Investors focus on manufacturing, energy, mining and digital infrastructure.
